Our Purpose

We would like to invite you to be a part of what God is doing in our church. At First Baptist, we speak of “Seeking His Heart . . . Sharing His Hope!”  What does that mean?

      “Seeking His Heart” means we want more than dry religion at our church.  We want to experience a close and intimate relationship with God.  We literally believe we can know God’s heart of love and concern for us.  It is incredibly good to know how much God cares.

      But it is not enough merely to know how much God loves our church.  We also focus on how much He loves our town and our world.  That is why we speak of “Sharing His Hope.”  We believe that in order to be an obedient church, we must be a church that prioritizes the task of communicating to our community and world that God is reaching out with love through the power of the cross of Jesus Christ.  Everywhere we go, we want to be missionaries sharing the hope that is in Jesus!
